Residents at Ocean Star in Bunbury have been treated to an uplifting visit from toddlers at Collie Early Education Centre.
The visit was coordinated by the residence’s administration officer Alison Anderton, whose daughter attends the centre. It was designed to coincide with a visit from staff and animals from Old Macdonald’s Farm. This gave both residents and youngsters from the education centre a chance to hold and stroke the various animals.
The residents loved the presence of the young children, who sang songs for them and chatted among themselves, to staff and of course to the residents themselves.
The Early Education centre staff in turn hosted Ocean Star residents as a thank you for their time and provided a tasty lunch, which was greatly enjoyed by all.
“I think these visits are really helpful as interacting with young people is always so effective at putting residents in a good mood; their lively, energetic natures are extremely infectious!” says Alison. "It's also a good opportunity for those children whose granparents are no longer alive or do not live locally."
