About the Role     

Catholic Homes is seeking a recently graduated Registered Nurse to join our team in delivering a high quality clinical care to our residents. 

This role will give you invaluable exposure to areas such as: 

  • Palliative care
  • Wound care
  • Chronic disease management
  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team (allied health – physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrist, speech pathologists), medical professionals and palliative specialists
  • Learning to communicate effectively with families, hospitals and external medical specialists
  • Holistic approach to care
  • Admission planning, ongoing care and early identification of the deteriorating patient
  • Opportunities to be involved in clinical meetings, clinical reporting - Learning about KPI's – trending and analysis, clinical audits and clinical governance
  • Accreditation process

The successful graduate will work across seven of our facilities - six in Perth Metro and one in Bunbury. Ongoing training and support will be provided by the Facility Manager and the Clinical Nurse. Free parking is available on all sites. 

Key responsibilities of the role include

  • Working with Facility Managers and Care Services team to ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Developing and implementing an audit schedule to ensure Consumer Outcomes are measured
  • Monitoring Continuous Improvement Plans to ensure that Improvements are recorded and measured
  • Providing education and support to all Catholic Homes staff relating to quality systems and compliance to improve care and services provided to the residents

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current AHPRA (Registered) Nursing Registration
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) 
  • Availability to work AM/ PM
  • A positive outlook and passion for Aged Care
  • Sound clinical skills and knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well within team environments
  • Proficiency in computer programs especially Microsoft Office
