Aged Care Services and Facilities
The location of Ocean Star Village - a stone’s throw from the Indian Ocean and at the gateway to the South West, makes for an idyllic, relaxing, and easy-going lifestyle and home for retirees and people who are downsizing. The community is a caring and friendly one in which all are welcome.
There are 40 newly-refurbished villas from which you can choose between one bedroom and two bedrooms homes. Each villa is appointed with a generous open plan living and dining space and a private courtyard.
Things you should know are, our onsite chef prepares freshly made meals for you if you choose and your dedicated village coordinator is on call should you need help with day-to-day. You’re also welcome to put to use our Home Care services for example, if you need help with tasks at home or a lift to an appointment or a social event.
The village is co-located with Residential Care, in this residence our villa owners are welcome to take part in the activities and wide range of services offered. Some popular activities and services include hairdressing, pastoral care and the onsite chapel, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy.
One of the biggest attractions drawing people to this village, is its coast location which is directly opposite the beach. As well as being only 15kms from the centre of Bunbury and close to all that our South West offers, allowing you the choice to do exactly as you please and what you love to do.

Our Retirement Village FAQs
Who owns and manages the retirement villas?
Catholic Homes owns and operates four Independent Living villages, as well as residential aged care and home care services. The organisation is an incorporated association (est. 1965) and a registered charitable institution.
Catholic Homes is governed by its Board and managed by a highly experienced executive team with a broad range of qualifications and expertise including business, nursing and health services, accounting and community development.
Do I own the Catholic Homes retirement villa?
Residents don’t own the asset but may benefit from any growth in its value when their villa is “sold”.
When you purchase a lease, your payment means that when there is capital growth on the property upon re-sale, you share in this growth. This is sometimes called a “capital share lease” arrangement.
Villa values go up and down over time in much the same way as your current residence. Under the Independent Living Village Agreement, residents receive the benefit of a proportion of capital growth, subject to conditions, upon re-leasing. This does vary between villages and organisations and you should check to see if an agreement allows you to benefit from capital growth.
What age does the oldest resident of a couple have to be to live in a Catholic Homes retirement village?
To qualify for residency, at least one resident in a villa must be aged 55 years or older.
All residents should be capable of Independent Living in the village.
Can I have a pet at a Catholic Homes Retirement Village?
Yes, pets may be permitted at the discretion of Catholic Homes and must be authorised in writing.
Incoming residents must abide by and sign a Pet Agreement Form, as your pet should not intrude on your neighbour’s amenity. Assistance and guide dogs are permitted.
