Chantelle is our aged care angel

A new award to recognise and celebrate the aged care workforce has been presented at Catholic Homes.

Hotel Services worker Chantelle Gare received an Aged Care Angel Award this week for her dedication and commitment to residents and colleagues at Ocean Star in Bunbury.

“Chantelle is the first person to volunteer for activities to provide meaningful experiences for our residents,” said Executive Manager Residential Care Services Donna Kelly.

“She leads by example by adhering to our values and vision of joy, love and especially, hospitality. Her smile warms the hearts of all our residents.”

Chantelle joined Ocean Star five years ago and works at the residence in its hospitality team.

She is currently organising a sensory garden for Ocean Star residents which, in the new year, will transform an outdoor courtyard into a friendly space where people can gather, share stories and have fun.

“I thrive on making residents happy,” said Chantelle.
