New manager makes an impact

Carey Bray, who has been Acting Executive Manager Property Services at Catholic Homes for the past period, has been appointed to the top job on a permanent basis.

Chief Executive Paul Andrew said Carey has had an immediate and positive impact, bringing to the role a wealth of experience with Catholic Homes.

“Carey has implemented new practices and processes to achieve the outcomes we seek in providing good service to our stakeholders,” Mr Andrew said.

Carey said he is very pleased with the opportunity to lead the renewed property services team.

“I thank the head office team and maintenance officers for their efforts and support over the past few months to ensure business continuity and providing the time to recognise and implement improvements,” he said.

“However, it is still early days and I plan to meet with each department manager soon to hear how Property Services can assist them.”

Carey is an experienced operations manager with a demonstrated history of working in the health care industry.

With more than 10 years service in the aged care sector, Carey is skilled in a wide range of business acumen including negotiation, procurement, contract management, new building commissioning projects, catering, cleaning and laundry operations management and customer service.

He has an Advanced Diploma in Management and Diploma of Project Management from Australian Institute of Management WA and is a past Board member of the Institute of Hospitality in Healthcare (IHHC) and former IHHC WA Chairperson.
