MasterChef Competition Brings Flavour and Fun to Castledare
This week, Catholic Homes brought plenty of energy, creativity and flavour to Castledare, hosting a MasterChef-style cooking competition as part of Nutrition & Hydration Week.
Residents and staff from across our homes came together for a fun and engaging mystery box challenge, highlighting the important role food plays in wellbeing, connection and daily life.
A big congratulations to St Vincent’s Residential Care, Guildford, who took out the Best Chef title on the day as “The Aubergines.” 👏
St Mary Glowrey (“Simply the Zest”) were our runners-up, and also won the Best Table Setting competition.
We also saw fantastic participation from:
- The Whisk Takers – Castledare
- Holy Guacamole – Trinity
- Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory – Archbishop Goody
Beyond the cooking competition, the day included a nutrition talk on protein, a smoothie demonstration, interactive food quizzes, and a shared lunch enjoyed by all.
It was wonderful to see residents and staff working together, sharing laughs and showcasing their creativity.
