VR is out of this world

We recently took an exciting opportunity to try out Virtual Reality for the first time at Servite Residential Care and it blew us away!

Dora Humphry marveled at the statues in Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, while Audrey Willis took a trip down memory lane to her childhood home in Dublin, Ireland.

John Villiers visited Kununurra where he used to work, and Kevin Williams went swimming with dolphins underwater!

“The underwater experience with the dolphins was the best, it felt like I could reach out and touch them,” Kevin said.

Virtual Reality enabled ‘world travel’ in a realistic and tangible way, all from the comfort of a chair where the novel experience evoked memories and stories.

Catholic Homes is always exploring new ways to advance our Care with Purpose approach and Virtual Reality, a simulation of a three-dimensional environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly physical way.
