Intergenerational Interactions

We had our inaugural Intergenerational Playgroup at St Vincent’s recently, and if the smiles are anything to go by, it was a hit!

Running fortnightly on a Thursday, meaningful connections established across generations were delightful to observe and it was lovely to listen to the stories of previous generations and the raising of their family in the community.

There was everything from a Teddy Bears’ picnic with residents being offered cups of ‘tea’ by the children to the singing of songs.

There was lots of laughter and we look forward to creating meaningful relationships over the coming months. This is the start of a rich and nourishing experience that is enhancing the lives of all involved.

We are already looking forward to the next one and learning some dance moves from the children and plenty of cuddles.
