Holden down but not out for Ian

Resident Ian Pottage is such a massive Holden fan, you could not miss it when you see him at Archbishop Goody Hostel.

Every wall of his room is a shrine to the iconic car brand and merchandise from driving icons like Peter Brock takes pride of place.

The former mechanic has owned 20 Holdens, from an old FJ to a souped-up drag racing Commodore, and he has driven around the historic Bathurst racecourse six times!

It was a blow for all Holden fans in 2017 when General Motors stopped making their cars in Australia and terminated the marque in 2021.

The dream has been kept alive for Ian when he was presented with a collectors’ edition book “The Final Roar” as a thank you from Catholic Homes.

Marketing manager Roley Myers said he was impressed by Ian’s dedication and was thankful for his help in being part of a recent Care with Purpose promotional photo shoot.

“Ian was stoked with the book and we chatted for ages about the various Holdens that were in our families over the years,” he said.

“My thanks also go to Megan at our marketing agency Zebra for her help in sourcing the book for Ian.”
