Music is an integral part of our lives at any age. From when we’re in our mother’s womb listening to her heartbeat, to the accompanying soundtrack as young adults and then enjoyed in our later years. The health benefits of singing or playing a musical instrument are plentiful and include increased blood flow, stress reduction, endorphin release and improved attention and memory. Friendships, connections and a sense of belonging can be formed through music as well as alleviating responsive behaviours and symptoms such as anxiety and depression. Music programmes have been hugely successful at Catholic Homes over the years and please read on to find out more about our 2019 Music Programme.
