TWO donkeys joined residents and staff from Catholic Homes at its annual Christmas Carols last Thursday.
The donkeys and their three shepherds added some theatre to the event at St. Mary’s Cathedral as they symbolized Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.
Catholic Homes chief executive Sonya Smart said the Christmas service brought residents, staff and their families from across the organization together.
“If the donkeys are a hit this year we may continue with the Christmas story and introduce the Three Wise Men in 2015,” Ms Smart said.
An afternoon tea at the service gave everyone time to play with the donkeys. Catholic Homes provides a range of retirement and aged care facilities in WA.
The not-for-profit organisation operates seven residential aged care facilities and four independent living villages in Belmont, Bunbury, Duncraig, East Perth, Guildford, Joondanna and Wilson.
