Residents and staff at St Vincent's have rallied together to create a wonderful display featuring Recollections of the Perth Royal Show.
Since 2003 the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia has encouraged community groups involved in aged care to take part as it recognises for many people their annual visit to the Royal Perth Show was one of the social highlights of the year.
"I loved all of it and it has taken weeks to put together," contributor Mary Isherwood says. "We all really rallied together," Lois Day added.
One of the highlights of the display is the board featuring quotes about residents' best memories of the show, such as riding on the ghost train and swinging in a seat at the very top of the ferris wheel.
Next month there will be a celebratory tea and presentation of Certificates of Participation, with a mini “Perth Royal Show” at Claremont Showground. Four people from St Vincent’s have been invited to attend.
The tea will feature a collage of each display.
