There is excitement in the air at Trinity in Duncraig with residents having created an exhibition stand that features arts and crafts that remind residents of their times at the event as youngsters.
Each has really enjoyed pooling their resources and talents to create the stand, which is a true reflection of their memories of the show’s highlights in years past.
Ethel Smith recalls the show fondly:
“We would save all year long so we had as much money as we could to spend it there. Plus, you wouldn’t go down to the show in just shorts and a singlet – you used to dress up in your best clothes,” she says.
Ethel entered a cross stitch piece of work and won third place, which was a very proud moment at the time.
The completed exhibit has been assessed by a team of judges from the Royal Agricultural Society of WA and Trinity residents are hoping to get placed in the competition for best exhibit.
