An adventurous team of athletes from St Vincent’s put their best foot forward for the Annual Metro LiveLighter Aged Care Games at Belmont on August 4th.
Teams from around the city competed in a series of events throughout the day, including bean bag toss, seated hockey, pass ball and skittles.
Each team had to dress up based on a theme and St Vincent’s became the daring “Red Devils”. The residents made the all the costumes and masks themselves.
They came fourth out of fifteen entries and were really pleased with the result.
"It was a great day and so much fun," participating resident Dot Hicks says. "We did a lot better than last year, but this year we really practised."
A note of thanks was expressed for Physiotherapy Assistant Barbara Gabathuler who worked very hard in preparing the residents and she even volunteered on her day off for the event so she could be there to cheer them on.
