What does WA Day mean to you?
WA Day traditionally celebrates our Aboriginal history, early European settlers and those who have made Western Australia their home.
Our Servite Village residents certainly have made Catholic Homes their home and reflected on what it means to be Western Australia. Happy Hour became even more joyful as we reminisced over fond memories and a singalong.
Mosaic Artist Maureen Elphick ran a mosaic workshop with our Servite Village residents. The workshop was facilitated by Occupational Therapist Alison Alty and her assistant Liz Fowler. The residents chose their own designs and applied their artistic eye for detail.
Maureen has been designing and making mosaics for over a decade with both glass and ceramic. She has received several Public Art commissions including Trinity College and St Mary MacKillop College in Busselton.
